Cherril Ann Solomon Low Mitchell Obituary (1923 - 2014)

Cherril Ann Solomon Low Mitchell March 2, 1923 - June 3, 2014 CLINTON - Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend Cherril Mitchell, 91, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2014 in Clinton, Utah. She was surrounded by her loving family. The second of eight children, she was born March 2, 1923 in Granger, Utah to Melvin Charles Solomon and Everean Hulda Nielson. Cherril married John Warren Low on July 9, 1941 in the Logan LDS Temple. He died August 30, 1953. From this union, they had four daughters: Diane and Clint (deceased) Hansen, Ivins, Utah; Valerie and Richard Walker, Syracuse, Utah; Cherrie and Andy Burgess, Syracuse, Utah and Joyce and Dan Greenwell, Ivins, Utah. They had 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren. On September 19, 1962 she married T. James Mitchell. He died April 12, 1993. He had five children who are Joyce (deceased) and Paul Brown, Clinton, Utah, and Georgia Ann (deceased) and Lynn (deceased) Hutchings, Kenneth and Cheryle Mitchell, Clinton, Utah, Fred and Laura Mitchell, Clinton, Utah, and Merlin and Jeanine Mitchell, Harper Ward, Utah. There are 19 grand children and 49 great-grandchildren. As a member of the LDS church, she served in many callings as Relief Society President, Young Women's leader, Primary leader, visiting teacher and temple extractions. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She was a wonderful homemaker and cook. She specialized in potato salad, donuts, chocolates and whole wheat bread. She also was a seamstress and embroidered many temple aprons and crocheted afghans. In May 2004, she was honored and awarded the title of "Mother of the Year" for Clinton, City. She was loved by all and loved all of her family very much. She is survived by two sisters, Patsy Larson, Suzie Frei and two brothers, Ray and Bryant Solomon. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 9, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 S. 1900 W., Roy, Utah. Friends and family may call on Monday morning from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. at the Mortuary prior to services. Interment will be held at the Clinton City cemetery.
