Cheryl Dawn Ward

–

Ogden, UT

Our sweet and tender wife, mother, sister, daughter, and aunt passed away in the early hours of Monday April 3, 2017 of pneumonia.
Cheryl graduated from Bonneville High School and Weber State University Suma Cum Laude in vocal pedagogy. Cheryl met and married the love of her life Brett Ward and soon married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple June 15, 2002.
Cheryl's kind and tender heart radiated throughout everything she touched. Cheryl's love for her boys was by far her greatest accomplishment. They read books, sang songs, and played hard. They had projects galore. There was never a dull moment in the Ward household. But most importantly, she shared with them her testimony and the pure love of Christ. Cheryl loved to sing and shared this talent many times over. Cheryl also enjoyed every calling she received, especially primary music chorister. Cheryl was a master gardener; she loved working in her yard. Spring was her favorite time of year. Cheryl was precise in her planting right down to the very last millimeter. Many around her were the beneficiaries of a wonderful and prolific garden.
Cheryl loved to dress up, even as a little girl no one was allowed to touch the ringlets that were in her beautiful curly hair. Her love of sewing was another great talent. The neighborhood always looked forward to the elaborate Halloween costumes she made every year. Cheryl also enjoyed working side by side with her husband, siblings, and father in the family business. Cheryl loved education and learning. She took every moment she had to be a teaching moment. Everything that Cheryl and the boys experienced was followed by a lesson.
Cheryl is survived by her eternal companion: Brett and their adorable boys Camden and Brecken; mother and father, Richard and Marva Whitehead; siblings Camille (Lorne) Kearl, Trina Whitehead, Brandon (Becki) Whitehead, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Julie Whitehead.
Cheryl, we love you and miss you. We will miss your adventurous attitude in searching for hidden Mickeys! We look at your example and want to be just like you. May we all strive to make the world better in honor of you. The family would like to thank Dr. Vincent Hansen and colleagues who showed Cheryl such compassionate care, as well as many friends and neighbors.
