Chew Ngar (Henry) Wong Obituary (1950 - 2008)

Chew Ngar (Henry) Wong ROY - Chew Wong was born on October 3, 1950 in Canton, China to Shee Fan and Foon Yung Wong. After his 2 year courageous battle with cancer, he passed away on August 30, 2008 from complications. Chew was a chef and operated the family restaurant, Jade Terrace, for over 35 years. Chew was prominent in the local Chinese Committee, including continuing, improving, and expanding the Chinese cemetery in Ogden, UT. He is survived by his wife Lisa; daughters Leanna and Teresa; son Jeffrey; grandson Aidan; brothers and sisters Chun, Janet, Sylvia, Kwan, and Tom. His parents and brother Gene have preceded him in death. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, traveling and staying on top of current events. A few words to describe our beloved husband and "baba" (dad) are brave, fearless and above all self-less. He will always be remembered fondly for his thoughtfulness, kindness, and generosity towards his family and friends. Viewing services will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at 6 p.m. and prior to the funeral at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden. Funeral services will be held at Myers Mortuary on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Huntsman Cancer Institute, 500 Huntsman Way, Salt Lake City, UT 84108, in memory of Chew.
