Christine Martini Burger

OGDEN - On Wednesday, December 31, 2008, our special and precious daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, cousin and friend, Christine Martini Burger passed away due to complications from a brave 2-1/2 year battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

Chris was born in Ogden, Utah on September 20, 1957 to Gelindo (Sonny) Martini Jr. and Beverly Ann Brown Martini. She grew up in West Weber and attended schools in Weber County; graduating from Weber High School in 1975. Working on the family farm, participating in the 4-H Club program and dancing lessons were a huge part of her life when she was growing up.

She married Randy B. Burger on October 21, 1992 in Ogden, Utah. Together they had two very special boys, Rowdy Chance Burger and Chase R. Burger. Her boys were the light of her life. She was their biggest fan at their football, basketball and baseball games; giving them all the support and encouragement she could.

Chris had a special fondness for children, and enjoyed caring and tending for her sister and brother's kids. Aunt Chrissie liked to spoil them and supported them in all their activities.

Family ties were important to Chris. She enjoyed spending time camping, fishing, hunting and 4-wheeling at Sourdough and Devil Creek Reservoir. She was a vital part of the family tradition of making homemade salami and sausage. Birthdays, holidays and anniversaries were special to Chris and she never forgot them. We'll miss her green pistachio salad at family dinners.

Chris retired from IRS and was currently employed at West Weber Elementary School. She enjoyed working with the students and faculty, and was loved by everyone there.

She is survived by her parents Junior and Beverly Martini; husband Randy; loving boys Rowdy and Chase; sister Debbie (Danny) Dickemore; brothers Scott Martini and Dennis (Lucy) Martini; aunts; uncles; cousins; niece; nephews; in-laws Ron and Jan Burger and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Gelindo (Nonno) and Carena (Nonna) Martini, Charles (Grandpa) and Rosemary (Grandma) Brown; uncles Aldo Segna and Bortolo Zanoni.

A special thanks would like to be given to the staff at St. Mark's Hospital. To John, Toni, Heidi, Lillian, Shelly and the Pastoral Care; we appreciate not only what you did for Chris, but also for the whole family.

Thank you also to Heidi Bingham and family, Nancy Daley, the staff of West Weber Elementary School, and all those who supported and helped with the fund raisers and contributions for Chris and her family.

Chris, we're going to miss you. We love you and know that we'll be with you again some day.

Mommy, you'll be our guardian angel.
