PLEASANT VIEW - Clarence L. Buck, 87, died Sunday, December 29, 2002. He was born February 17, 1915 to Luther Buck and Sarah Ann Powell in Marriott, Utah. He married Lorraine Clark 59 years ago in the Salt Lake Temple on October 8, 1943.

He is survived by Lorraine; three children: Dean C. (Janet) Buck of Loveland, Colorado; Merlene B. (Andrew) Juergens and Diane B. (Melvin) Marker, both of Pleasant View; 17 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Marvin, Rulon, and Sherman; and one great granddaughter, Sara Arrington.

Active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he had served as Bishop, High Councilor, Physical Facilities Representative, and at the Ogden Family History Center. Clarence and his wife served as missionaries in the Salt Lake North Mission.

He served as a Crew Chief on a C-47 during World War II.

He loved Arabian horses, and he belonged to the Sheriff's Mountain Posse of Weber County for 50 years.

A special thanks to Dr. Brent Williams and the people at Manor Care, who not only provided wonderful medical services, but also a portion of their hearts.

In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to the LDS Perpetual Education Fund.
