Cleone Ruth Bateman Battisti ("the Old Batt") passed away peacefully at home on May 18, 2018 surrounded by family. She was born on January 15, 1927 in Ogden to Beatrice and Arthur L. Bateman. She attended Ogden City schools, graduating from Ogden High School in 1945. She married Giuseppe "Joe" Battisti, an Italian prisoner of war. His first words to her were "can I companion you?" They were married on August 20, 1945. Joe died on February 19, 1974. They are companions again now and forever.

She is survived by one brother, Alan (Mary Lou), sister-in-law Betty, eight children - Joe (Corinne), Mike (Janet), John (Zaundra), Virginia (Carter) Volle, Cathy (Glen) Leavitt, Paul, Dina (Jay) Wells, and Mario "Jim"; 37 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Arthur; baby brother Albert; one grandson; one great-granddaughter and one great-grandson.

She was a member of the LDS Church and sealed to her husband for time and eternity in 1985. Her family came first and foremost in her life. She enjoyed going camping and fishing with her husband and kids. A specialty of hers was gathering family together to prepare home made ravioli. She enjoyed cooking, playing pinochle and watching her family and friends bowl. She bowled with her husband and after he died she bowled with family for over 40 years. She enjoyed her trips to Wendover on the bus with family and friends. She retired as a school cook at Grandview Elementary and was a member of the Union Pacific Old Timers and the Golden Hours Center.

"She has earned her wings."

The Battisti family would like to thank Zaundra, Bristol Hospice, Dr. Christensen, Tiffany, Lola, Michelle, Peggy, Candis, and Sinnamon for all their love and care.
