Connie O'Keefe Jones Obituary (1929 - 2006)

Connie (O'Keefe) Jones SOUTH OGDEN - Our beloved wife, mother, and beautiful, classy, independent, strong spirited woman, passed away after a valiant fight with Alzheimer's on July 19, 2006. She was born in Green River, Wyoming to Henry W. and Laura Murdock O'Keefe on December 18, 1929. She attended St. Joseph Elementary, Ogden High School, University of Utah and graduated from Weber State College. On September 3, 1952 she married the love of her life Clarence (Casey) Jones at St. Joseph Catholic Church. They would have been married for 54 years. She worked and retired from Hill Air Force Base. She lived in Sunset, Utah; Layton; Fish Haven, Idaho; and then resided in South Ogden. She is survived by her husband and three children, Jody Ann (Dale) Roper of North Ogden, Danny Jones of South Ogden, and Jennifer M. (Brad) Davis of Las Cruces, New Mexico. She is also survived by her best friend and godmother to her children (Aunt) Shirley Johnston of Ogden, Utah. She also is survived by her pets Ruby, Charlie and Summer; her grandpets (Jody's) BooBoo, Cisco, Cooper, Jasmine and TC, (Jennifer's) Daisy, Jez, Jango, Katie and Sonic. Two brothers and one sister, Patrick O'Keefe of Bear Lake, Mike (Susan) O'Keefe of Nordic Valley and Dorethea Shirtleff of Bountiful, Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister and brother-in-law, Janis and Ralph Hess of Gautier, Miss. Mom was the center of the family. She was the best friend to her daughters. Although she was shy and introverted, she could be very strong willed. She would take command and make key decisions for her family. She was a lady ahead of her time. She believed a woman could do anything she wanted and succeed. She had many hobbies including crotchet, knitting, ceramics, painting, writing and spoiling her children. The family wishes to thank Dr. Leo Stevenson and the doctors and staff at Christus St. Joseph Villa for the care and support they provided our mother.
