Criselda Maria Valdez Obituary (1919 - 2006)

Criselda Maria Romero Valdez Washington Terrace - Criselda Maria Romero Valdez, 87, passed away Monday, October 23, 2006. She was born July 30, 1919 in Ranchos de Taos, New Mexico, a daughter of Celso and Ursenia Ortiz Romero. She married Bonifacio Valdez on February 18, 1943 in Taos, New Mexico. Bonifacio preceded her in death on January 18, 1986. She was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She loved gardening, flowers, cooking, taking care of her grand and great-grandchildren, and playing cards. She is survived by her children: Tony Romero, Ogden; Paul (Ruby) Valdez, No. Salt Lake; Pristine Tafoya, So. Ogden; Angie (Martin) Hernandez, Nebraska; Fernando (Karen) Torgenson, St. George; Marie Torgenson, St. George; Eugene Torgenson, Layton; Rita (Tom) Leeman, Suffock, VA; David Sparenburg, Nebraska; 25 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Albert Romero, Wilmington, CA; and one sister, Francis Gonzales, Salt Lake City. She was preceded in death by two daughters and one son, Geraldine Valdez, Carmen Guthrie and Bonifacio Jr. A special thanks to Washington Terrace Health Services staff and also Life Path Hospice for the care and concern shown to Criselda and her family.
