Cutis Henry Koehler Obituary (1948

BRIGHAM CITY- Curtis Henry Koehler, 59, passed away unexpectedly on December 21, 2007. Curt was born August 5, 1948 in Aberdeen, South Dakota to Henry Frederick Koehler and Charlotte Dominquez Koehler. Curt spent his early years growing up in North Dakota before moving with his family to Utah. He attended schools in Davis County and graduated from Davis High School. Curtis joined the Navy in 1970 and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. While in the Navy he received the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Medal. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, he worked in communications at Hill Air Force Base. He retired from Hill after working there for 30 years. At the time of his death he was working for Mountain West Research. On August 8, 1980, he married Karen Shandrew and together they raised three wonderful children, Brandon, Cody and Kimberlee. Curt was a gentle, loving, compassionate man who cared about others. One of the greatest joys in his life was his family. He especially enjoyed spending time with his two grand daughters, Saranna and Tylee. He loved reading to them and playing with them. To them he was "Bampa and Daddy." Curtis is survived by his wife, Karen; sons, Brandon (Brekke) Koehler and Cody Koehler; daughter, Kimberlee Koehler; grand daughters, Saranna and Tylee; mother, Charlotte Koehler; brother, Steven Koehler and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Henry Koehler. Funeral Services will be Thursday, December 27, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City where friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 to 10:40 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
