Dahl R. Henrie Obituary (1934 - 2007)

Dahl R. Henrie Mesquite/Roy - Dahl R. Henrie, age 73, passed away at his home on March 31, 2007. Dahl was born January 10, 1934 in Ferron, Utah. He was the son of Roland and Idell Huntsman Henrie. He was raised in Ferron, Price and Dragerton, Utah where he met and married his wife of 42 years. Dahl and Darlene Mills were married on December 27, 1952 in Dragerton, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Dahl and Darlene raised their four children in the Roy area. They had many homes which they would landscape and finish the interiors to sell, and start all over again. Darlene passed away on September 28, 1994 in Ogden, Utah. And are reunited once again. Dahl attended Elementary and High school in Price graduating from Carbon County High School, and then went on to graduate from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. Dahl very proudly served eight years of active duty in The United States Air Force where he was part of an air-sea rescue unit during the Korean War. He then joined the Air Force Reserves and retired from the military as Chief Master Sergeant with 35 years of service. Dahl retired from Civil Service at Hill Air Force Base, in Ogden, Utah in 1989 with 35 years of service. He then worked for Aerospace Engineering and Supply 14 years until his retirement in 2003. Dahl enjoyed landscaping, gardening, buying and selling cars, fishing, camping, games and playing cards with his children and grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. Dahl married his lovely bride Sally Lambert, on October 6, 2001 in Lake Tahoe, California. Dahl and his wife Sally moved to Mesquite, Nevada in January 2003. "Dal-N-Sal", as they became known, loved spending time with their many Mesquite friends. They are members of the Mesquite Elks Lodge, where Dahl enjoyed talking to his numerous friends and taking photographs at the various Elk functions. Dahl also loved dancing away the night to the songs of "The Putter Brothers" at the Casa Blanca Casino. Dahl enjoyed tracing his ancestry, traveling, and gambling. He fulfilled his lifetime dream trip when he and sally drove the entire Al-Can Highway and spent the month of July 2002 touring Alaska. "Dal-N-Sal" enjoyed walking along the beaches of California collecting sea shells and loved going back to Lake Tahoe where they would pick up pinecones and would bring them back to give to their families. Dahl is survived by his wife Sally, four children, Jerry Henrie, Roy; Dahlene (Scott) Spencer, Clearfield; Todd (Valerie) Henrie, Pleasant View; and Connie Warner, Clearfield. He has been blessed with 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Dahl also has two step-children, Buck (Nicki) Lambert, Roy; and Dusty Lambert, Mesquite, NV. He has six step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Roger (Betty) Henrie, American Fork; and his sister Carol Henrie, Ferron, Utah.
