After an incredible 85-year journey, Dana Judith Doyle Crase left her earthly existence on Monday October 24, 2022 to again be united with her loving husband, James LeRoy Crase.
On December 22, 1936, in her grandparents' home in Farr West, Utah, Judy was born to Daniel James and Helen Rosamond Lindstrom Doyle. She was reared in Farr West, educated in Weber County Schools, and graduated from Weber High School in 1955.
Judy worked at Vetas Dairy Bar, where she met Jim. They were married in Coleville, Utah on June 22, 1955. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden Temple on March 11, 1995. After Jim enlisted in the United States Air Force, Judy joined him at many different duty stations across the United States where five of their seven children joined their family. Judy's favorite tour of duty was abroad in Fontainebleau, France.
In 1966, they returned to Ogden where they made their permanent home. This is where Judy began her career with Smith's Food King as a checker. She quickly advanced and moved to the position of bookkeeper and retired in 1998.
Judy was a remarkably accomplished seamstress and enjoyed knitting, embroidering, exploring a variety of crafts, decorating for holidays, collecting coin sets, working in her yard, ATV riding, camping, traveling, rockhounding, family get-togethers, and helping to care for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren.
Judy is survived by her children: Dana (Robert) Bills of Ogden, Helen (Lane) Stromberg of Washington, Utah, Marcia (Doug) Phillips of Florissant, Colorado, and William Crase of Ogden. She was also blessed to be able to enjoy and be a part of the lives of 14 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, three of their children: Edith, James, and DeJay, her parents, and all of her siblings: William, Mary, Edith, Daniel Jr, and Helen.
So many angels have been a part of Judy's life and have cared for her during the last part of her journey. Her family is eternally grateful for each one and the tender, loving care they have continued to provide.
Judy's funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Myer's Mortuary 845 Washington Blvd in Ogden.
