Darald Elliot Michelson Obituary (1910 - 2004)

Darald Elliot Michelson HUNTSVILLE - Darald Elliot Michelson, age 93, died June 4, 2004 at the McKay-Dee Hospital of pneumonia. He was born July 16, 1910 in Huntsville, Utah, to John Hyrum Michelson and Jessie Morgan Michelson. He grew up in Huntsville and joined the Navy in 1927 and served in the Pacific Fleet both in the Navy band and as a bugler. After being given an honorable discharge in 1933 he returned to the Valley where he purchased a farm. He married Wanda Amelia Grow Michelson in 1940. They were later sealed in the Logan Temple. Darald had a lovely tenor voice and, accompanied by Wanda, they performed at countless functions over a period of many years. They served a mission at the LDS Ogden Temple together. Darald was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He loved farming and grew apples for many years. He enjoyed writing and had several articles published. Darald is survived by his two children, Darald Jay (Elsa) Michelson of Fresno, CA and Etta (Paul) Baker of Huntsville, Utah. Darald and Wanda had eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
