West Haven, Utah

SERVICES MOVED TO MYERS MORTUARY, 5865 SOUTH 1900 WEST, ROY UTAH. DUE TO THE RAIN. SERVICE TIME IS CHANGED TO 2:30 PM.

Darrell Leland Burton of West Haven, Utah, passed away on September 11, 2026. Born on January 26, 1941, in Tremonton, Utah, to Leland Matthew and Rachel Call Burton, Darrell was the third of seven children. Raised on a dairy farm, he developed a strong work ethic and a lifelong passion for agriculture. After graduating from Bear River High School and working for the Department of Defense, he returned home in 1974 to carry on the family farm following his father's passing.

In August 1964, Darrell married Gloria Lois Hall in Malad, Idaho. Together they welcomed three children: Darren Burton, Becky (Doug) Evans, and Nolan (Shana) Burton. Following their divorce, Darrell married ReNee Hadley on May 26, 1983, in Plain City, Utah, and embraced her daughters, Stephanie Morton and Rachelle Jones, as part of his family.

After selling the family farm, Darrell returned to Hill Air Force Base, where he worked as a mechanic for the Department of Defense until his retirement in 2019. Though his career changed, his love for farming never faded. He treasured caring for dairy cattle, valued lifelong friendships, and found great satisfaction in gardening, raising horses, and enjoying life's simple pleasures.

A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Darrell faithfully served in many callings and cherished his ward family. In retirement, he dedicated himself to daily gospel study and strengthening his faith.

Darrell will be remembered for his hard work, quiet strength, loyalty, and deep love for family and friends. He is survived by his children, Darren Burton, Becky (Doug) Evans, and Nolan (Shana) Burton; his stepdaughter, Stephanie Morton; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Marguerite Petersen, Barbara (Jerry) Robinson, and Maurine (Doug) MacKay.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leland Matthew Burton and Rachel Call Burton; his sisters, Nelda, Norma, and Sylvia; his wife, ReNee Hadley Burton; his stepdaughter, Rachelle Jones; and his grandson, Joshua Evans.

Darrell's legacy of faith, perseverance, friendship, and devotion to family will continue to inspire all who knew and loved him. We encourage you to upload photos and memories you have to his memorial page at: www.myers-mortuary.com.
