David B. Johnson

BRIGHAM CITY - David Bruce Johnson, 67 passed away Friday, September 5, 2014 at his home with his loving wife by his side.
David was born May 15, 1947 in Sweet Home, Oregon eldest son of Betty Marie Larsen and Bruce Johnson. He attended Manti Elementary, Ephraim Jr. High, Manti High, Weber State College and Utah State College. He served his country in the Navy in Vietnam.
David married Joyce Elaine Gunnarson on October 6, 1972 in Ogden, UT; they had five wonderful children together and later divorced. On May 26, 1992 he married Christine Black in Salt Lake City, UT and gained six more wonderful children. David and Christine were later sealed in the Manti Temple. In 2011 Charissa was also sealed to David & Christine in the Manti Temple.
David is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He has served as a home teacher, Seventies Quorum Stake Secretary, Seventies Instructor, High Priest Group Secretary, Primary Teacher, Sunday School Teacher, Ward Executive Secretary, Membership Clerk, Sunday School President, Ward Mission Leader, Assistant Scout Master, Cub Master, Eagle Scout, Temple Ordinance Worker in the St. George, Oquirrh Hills and Brigham City Temples.
He was the owner and operator of Canvas & Leather Stitchery.
David enjoyed temple work, family game time for generations, and telling adventurous tales to children.
Surviving are his wife Christine, children: Matthew (Persephone) Johnson, Ogden, UT; Kelly (Jen) Johnson, Herriman, UT; Becky (Marcus) Fletcher, Clearfield, UT; Cody (Lisa) Johnson, No. Ogden, UT; Luke Johnson, Pleasant Veiw, UT; step-children: Anita Brown, Elko, NV; Curtis (Angie) Muir, Roy, UT; John (Page Anderson) Muir, Elko, NV; Jennette (Richie) Hales, Pleasant Grove, UT; Charissa (Kayce) Parkinson, San Bruno, CA; Tom (Geri) Muir, Kaysville, UT; and 13 grandchildren. Also siblings: Bonnie (Gene) Curtis, Payson, UT; Richard (Jean) Johnson, Mantua, UT; Barbara (Jim) Christensen, So. Jordan, UT; Vickie (Jeff) Anderson, Ephraim, UT; Kathie Johnson, W. Jordan, UT; Fred (Joan) Johnson, Manti, UT; Maren (Joe) Chandler, Benjamin, UT; Mike (Kim) Johnson, Perry, UT; Clark (Jody) Johnson, Riverton, UT.
Preceded in death by parents, and step-daughter Emma.
Funeral services will be Monday, September 8, 2014 at 12 Noon at Taylorsville 9th Ward Chapel, 2030 W. Chateau Ave, (5225 S.) Taylorsville, UT.
Viewing will be held on Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, UT and on Monday from 10:00 to 11:40 a.m. at the Church.
Interment will be in the Redwood Memorial Estates Cemetery with Military Honors Accorded.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Temple Patron Fund through your own Ward. This fund helps members receive their own ordinances, in many cases this is the only time these members will ever get to go to the Temple. Or you may donate to help pay funeral expenses.
