CLINTON - Dawna Stephens Hammer, 85, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Country Pines Retirement.

She was born October 14, 1925 in Victor, Idaho to Howard E. and Dot Stephens.
She was raised in Idaho and lived her married life in Ogden, Roy, Utah; St. David, Arizona; Garland and Sunset, Utah.

She married Rulon Dee Hammer on September 2, 1946. Their marriage was later sealed in the Logan Temple on May 7, 1969.

Dawna graduated from Ogden High School. She most recently became a member of the Sunset 1st Ward LDS Church. She held various teaching and leadership positions in the Garland, St. David and Roy Wards. Dawna and Rulon served a stake mission in Garland, Utah where they filled the baptismal font.

Surviving are her six children; Suzanne Herre (Bob), Sunset; Charolette Thurgood (John), Willard; Lorainne Burton (Dave), Thatcher; Dee Hammer (Carole), Windsor, CO; Steve Hammer (Kim), South Weber; Sandra Beardsley (Lloyd), Sonora, CA; 23 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Rulon, and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the Sunset 1st Ward, 2431 North 250 West. A viewing will be held for family and friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 S. 1900 W. and Saturday at the Church from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. prior to services.
Interment, Garland Cemetery.
