Dean Aden Wallwork

OGDEN - Dean A. Wallwork passed away on September 11, 2006 after a valiant and courageous fight with the demons of old age, who ambushed him so viciously during his "Golden Years".

Dean was born September 20, 1923 in Stone, Idaho to Andrew and Olive Buck Wallwork. Dean married Barbara J. Telleson on the 8th day of April, 1947, they were the parents of five children. Casey (Shari), Farmington; Dan (Nancy), Huntsville, Nate (DeAnne), Pleasant View; Carol (Mark) Wielkiewicz, Ogden and Sid Wallwork of Pleasant View; he has 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Dean was a member of the LDS church, though recently semi active, he accepted and honored his membership and recognized and appreciated the profound influence the church had on his life.

Dean received his education through the Ogden City School's, University of Utah, Chicago Academy of Fine Art and the American Academy of Art in Chicago.

He spent the major part of his life in the field of commercial art, fine art and Graphic and Technical illustration. He worked in this orientation for the Air Force at Hill Air Force Base, retiring in 1978 to continue his work at fine art in his own studio.

In addition to his devotion to the field of art he had many other interests. His many accomplishments, too numerous to mention, were well known by those around him.

He was a veteran of WW II, in the Pacific Theater. He served three and a half years with the Army Air Corp as a pilot in the 20th Air Force B29 campaign against Japan. After the war Dean continued his love for flying with two of his sons who shared ownership of their own aircraft.

He was also active in the building industry, especially designing and planning. As a licensed building contractor he worked exclusively for his own family in projects of the family enterprise, providing his children the opportunity to acquire and demonstrate a large variety of skills and knowledge used throughout their lives.

His devotion to animals was one of the primary interests in his life with special love for dogs. Most recent is his well-loved and devoted friend Willie, who he leaves as one of his survivors and beneficiaries. (He often mentioned in his most recent years; if he could have one more wish in his life, it would be to have and enjoy one more litter of pups).

Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Olive Wallwork; three sisters and two brothers, Flora Jorgenson, Vodis Barth, Ila Tippets, Clay Wallwork and Doyle Wallwork.
Special thanks to all the staff at McKay Dee Hospital and Dr. Hall and his staff and IHC Homecare

The family would like to give a special recognition of thanks to Dean's son-in-law Mark for all his help and devotion.
