DeAnn Dye Brown was a beacon of light in the lives of all who knew her. She was a loving mother, a supportive sister, a dedicated teacher, but most of all a woman of great strength and resilience.
She was born on March 25, 1965, in Ogden, Utah, to her parents, Rulon and Gayla Dye. She grew up in their Uintah family home with her sisters Yvonne, Shanna, Hollie, Heather, and her brother Kirk. She liked to tell stories about her time growing up, from helping bale hay on the family acreage to taking many fun family road trips.
DeAnn's love for her family knew no bounds. She cherished moments spent with her husband, Jesse, whom she met while singing in the Weber State Institute Chorale. She made it a priority to create lasting memories with their daughters: April, Cierra, and Michaela. As “Mima”, she devoted much of her time trying to create many more special moments with their granddaughters: Roxella, Rosalia and Charlie. As it is said, "Family is not an important thing; It is everything." DeAnn's life echoed this sentiment, and her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those closest to her.
DeAnn also touched the lives of many in her community. She dedicated 29 years of her life to shaping young minds as a teacher. She served in various elementary schools, including Duchesne Elementary (1), Maeser Elementary (2), Spanish Oaks Elementary (3), Rock Canyon Elementary (20), and Provo Peaks Elementary (2). DeAnn's love for education was evident in her work, earning her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and students. Her hobbies included card-making, music, reading, photography, and traveling, which allowed her to explore her creativity and passion for knowledge. As a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, DeAnn found solace and joy in music, particularly primary songs, and she was excited to dive deeper into the gospel doctrine in her new calling teaching adult Sunday School.
She was preceded in death by her in-laws, Leon and Roxella (Roxie) Brown and brother-in-law Ken. She is survived by her spouse, three children, son-in-law Carlos, her three grandchildren, both parents, her five siblings and their spouses, as well as her sister-in-law Rebecca.
With her thoughtful spirit, generous heart, and unwavering love, DeAnn touched many lives in profound ways. She was a woman who stood firm in her beliefs and values, creating a life filled with much joy and fulfillment even in her own struggles. Her journey of 61 years on Earth was a testament to her strength and love. Her legacy will live on and continue to inspire those who knew her.
