DeAnn Rasmussen Valentine passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 25, 2022, in Ogden, Utah.
Born on October 7, 1936, in Brigham City, Utah, DeAnn was the daughter of Anna Mae Jensen and John Edgar Rasmussen.
DeAnn graduated from Box Elder High School. She attended Stevens-Henager College and graduated from cosmetology school at Weber College. After college, DeAnn was employed as a stenographer by Marquardt Corporation in Ogden.
She married Jay C Valentine on January 29, 1960, in the Logan Temple. DeAnn was a perfect homemaker and devoted her time and energies to her beloved family.
DeAnn was a talented pianist and singer, with a unique tenor and alto voice. She was a member of many singing groups, including a well-known women's quartet (later a trio) that performed at events across northern Utah. She loved that she had a musical family and enjoyed performing with them.
A talented artist, DeAnn enjoyed creating sketches of her family and oil paintings that decorated her home. She had a love of family history work and dedicated thousands of hours indexing historical records and researching her family. DeAnn expressed great pride that she was "100% Danish."
Above all else DeAnn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She supported her family in all their activities, attending countless athletic competitions, recitals, and performances. She was known for her kindness, patience, and humility. There was no sweeter and more non-judgmental person in the world, but she could also swear like a sailor.
