Deborah Susan Ashton Ogden

"I was born in Salt Lake City on December 9, 1953 (three weeks after I was expected, a fact my mother, Beth DeLaCruz, has often reminded me of). I was raised and educated primarily in Roy, Utah, along with my brothers and sisters, Mike, Becky, and Ed. I also have four other brothers and sisters from my father, Keith Ashton. Unfortunately I didn't get to know my brothers and sisters from Him as well as I had hoped, they are: Keith, Andrea, Melissa, and Josh.

At the age of 14, I met my husband to be. Mike and I married three years later and were blessed with three children, CaLyn, Brandon, and Michelle They each are with three wonderful people, Alex, Krista, and Justin, respectively, and blessed us with 11 grandchildren. I truly enjoyed being a wife, mother, and grandmother and was always delighted to be called one of the variations of grandma, grandma bean (jelly beans), grams, gwamma, mee-ma.

I worked for the Department of Corrections for 29 years, and met many wonderful people. It was there that I learned the value of my upbringing and how lucky I was to have parents who taught me values, morals, manners, and the appreciation of a job well done. It was also there that I learned the true meaning of "No Man is an Island", and that our choices deeply impact those we love most.

I had the great honor of spending 43 wonderful years married to Mike (I always said he couldn't get rid of anything). Mike is a very loving, generous, compassionate, and a caring man, I will always cherish him for his deep love and commitment to me.

I have always admired CaLyn for her ability and desire to help others and make others feel important. Brandon for his insight and knowledge, and Michelle for her courage to take risks and have fun along the way. I was very lucky to know each of my children would always be there for me when I needed them.

To those of you I have laughed with, thank you for the memories. To those of you I have hurt, I sincerely apologize.

On December 27, 2014 I found rest in the Lord after 61 years. I look forward to breezes blowing through my hair, and swimming with the dolphins! Christ has promised the best is yet to come! God bless each of you, until we meet again!

Love, Debi
