Della Mae Miller, 90, passed away on September 22, 2016. She was born June 26, 1926 in Logan, Utah to Charles Edward and Orilla Amy (Jorgensen) Lucas. She graduated from Logan High School and received her Bachelor's degree in education from Utah State University.

Della Mae married John Calvin Miller on June 9, 1947 in the Logan LDS Temple. They spent 44 years together raising five children and enjoyed taking their family on fishing and camping trips. Della Mae was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in various callings. She also served in the Ogden Temple for many years.

Della Mae was a beloved kindergarten teacher in the Ogden City and Weber County School Districts for 26 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, cooking, and reading. In later years she was an active member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers.

Above all, Della Mae loved spending time with her family, getting together often and traveling with them. She had a special ability to express love and connect with others in meaningful ways. Her optimism, sense of humor, and zeal for life will long be remembered by all who knew her.

Della is survived by four sons and one daughter, Clare (Eileen), Kent (Jane), Steven (Alicia), Michael (Marilyn) and Karen Gilbert (Douglas); 23 grandchildren and 54 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the Pleasant View 2nd Ward (250 W. Elberta Drive) with a viewing from 11:30 - 12:30 p.m. A viewing will also be held on Wednesday, September 28th from 6 to 8 pm at Myers Ogden Mortuary (845 Washington Blvd.). Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
