Brigham City, Utah

DeLora Maw Fowers, born on July 27, 1936, in Ogden, UT, and resident of Hooper, Utah, passed away on April 5, 2025. DeLora was a dedicated and reliable woman, devoted to her family, her faith, and her community. She was a resilient and adventurous soul, never shying away from a challenge or an opportunity for growth.

DeLora was a self-employed farmer, a career that spoke to her love of the land and her resilient spirit. Her dedication and reliability were not only evident in her work but also in her service to her church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she held various leadership positions, including Relief Society President, Primary President, and Young Women's President. She also served two missions at the Cannery and the Temple Square Visitors Center. In addition to her service to her church, DeLora was a talented singer who performed with her two sisters and sang at 79 funerals, further highlighting her gift for comforting others in their times of need. Her adventurous spirit was reflected in her love for travel, both within the United States and internationally. She was also a recorder at Hooper City, an achievement that showcased her dedication to her community.

DeLora is survived by her sons, Bart (Sharon), Brad, Bret (Janeal), Stan (Tauni), and Russ (Brandy) Fowers, and her sister, Elaine Deru, as well as 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, Gilbert Maw, her mother, Grace Jolly, ex-husband Lyle, and her brothers, Virgel, Vadel, and Stanley Maw, and her sister, LaRee Felt. As we mourn her passing, we remember a verse from the Book of Mormon that epitomizes DeLora's life: "And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God" (Mosiah 2:17).

The viewing will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. at Myers Mortuary in Roy, Utah, followed by a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. at the Hooper Cemetery. We welcome all who knew and loved DeLora to join us in celebrating her life.
