Dennis James Laughter

Dennis James Laughter, 58, passed away December 19, 2016. He was born July 17, 1958 in Ogden, Utah to James and DeLone (Lewis) Laughter. He grew up in Pleasant View and attended Weber High School. He married Kaylynn Bailey on October 13, 1978; later divorced.

Dennis was a member of the LDS Church. He worked at Hill Air Force Base.

The joy of his life was his family and he loved spending time with them. He enjoyed golfing, refereeing sporting events; he received many awards for his service in football, basketball and baseball including the Football Ref of the Year from the Utah High School Activity Association. His greatest joy was watching his boys play sports and attending the sports activities of his grandchildren.

He is survived by his parents; his sons, Nick; Cory (Samantha), Shad (Nicole) and Cody (Brooke); 11 grandchildren, Mayson, Rylee, Brooklyn, Rylie, Kalli, Daxton, Crew, Alexia, Braxton, Austin and Allie; his siblings, Denise (Brian) Monson, Jan (Trent) Horn, Stacy (Marvin) Farrell, Ralph Laughter and Jason Laughter. He was preceded in death by his close friend, James Green, whom he traveled with while they refereed.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. Viewings will be held on Tuesday, December 27th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. interment, Evergreen Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Myers Mortuary to help with funeral expenses.
