Derek Cordell Hill

Derek Cordell Hill passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023, in Murray, Utah.
Derek was born in Brigham City, Utah, to Hyrum Cordell Hill and Brenda Nelson Hill on February 10, 1985. He was raised in Perry, Utah, with his 3 siblings. He also lived in the Salt Lake City areas and Arizona.
He attended Perry Elementary and graduated from high school in 2003 and went on to attend Utah State University. Derek had become a very successful salesman, and excelled in working with people. He worked in many different industries in sales and was awarded employee of the month multiple times.
Derek was a good all-around athlete, especially his love for playing football from Little League through High School. He also enjoyed playing basketball. Derek loved gaming, playing pinochle with his family, movie binging, music, playing guitar, reading, and writing music and poetry. He was also a foodie that enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Derek was very sociable; he enjoyed family gatherings and visiting his friends. He was very opinionated and was always willing to share his views. Derek had a colorful personality, was very smart sometimes to a fault and was extremely passionate about many subjects. Derek was also known by his classmates as the class clown making sure he got the last word in.
He is survived by his parents; sisters: Tara (Brian) Loveland and Keely (Chris) Kellett; his brother: Kirt (Laci) Hill; his grandparents: Adrian and Janace Nelson; a host of aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews: Broden, Josh, Hannah, Braden, Bree, Jace, Cannon, Emma, Quinn, Hailey, Bronco, Rachel, Bladen, Milo and Laynee.
Derek was preceded in death by his grandparents: Farriel and Mary Hill; his cousins: Tricia and Nick Hill.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 21, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 South 100 East, Brigham City, UT. A Viewing will be held prior to the service from 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. also at Myers Mortuary. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.
