Eden, Utah
We bid a fond farewell to Devon Chambers, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who departed this life on July 12, 2023. Born Devon Jane Richards on February 23, 1937, in Mendon, Utah, Devon was a woman of extraordinary spirit, ambition, and dedication.
Devon's wit and charm were only surpassed by her unwavering dedication to her faith and family. She was married to Earl Chambers on June 6, 1956. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple and together they nurtured a loving family of four children: Luann, Ronnie, Gregg, and Kevin. Her laughter and wisdom filled their Eden, Utah home, and she was the backbone of the family, her presence resonating long after her children had grown and had children of their own. In her later years, the joy of her life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.
Devon had a successful career at Defense Depot Ogden, earning numerous awards and commendations for her outstanding work. She was a proud member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and had a deep love for family history and genealogy books. Her dedication was also evident in her hobbies. She was an avid gardener, her hands creating beautiful bursts of color in her home surroundings. Devon's love for music was infectious as she played the clarinet for the Utah State University Marching Band, traveling the country and creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Devon was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Chambers, and her parents, Mahonri and Arva Richards and 4 sisters. She leaves behind her four children, Luann, Ronnie (Rose), Gregg (Natalie), and Kevin, 10 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren with one on the way and one great-great-granddaughter and one sister, Vonda Pickett.
Devon's life will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at 11:00 am at the Eden 2nd Ward, 2900 North Highway 162, Eden, Utah, 84310. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:45-10:45 am.
