Diana Simona Otte Mcculley Obituary (1907 - 2003)

DIANA SIMONA OTTE MCCULLEY 1907 - 2003 HOOPER - Diana Otte McCulley, 95, originally of Milford, Utah, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2003, in Roy, Utah, due to "boredom". Diana, our wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother was an exceptionally vital woman. She was always ready and willing to go and do for her family and other people. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. Diana was born July 11, 1907, in Logan, Utah, the ninth child of Henry and Louise Vesarg Otte. Her mother passed away when Diana was almost six. Two years later her father married Anna Frost whom Diana grew to love very much. She married Charles William McCulley September 25, 1929 in McGill, Nevada. Their vows were solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple on November 27, 1954. They lived in Milford, Utah until he died April 25, 1992 after 63 years of marriage. She then moved to Hooper to live with her daughter. Diana graduated with her RN degree from the LDS Hospital School of Nursing, in Salt Lake City, in 1929. She served in various capacities of nursing in the doctors' offices and in the Milford Hospital. The last 20 years of her career were spent as the Beaver County Public Health Nurse, where numerous children knew her as "the shot lady". She was a member of the LDS Church, where she served as a teacher in the Young Womens program, the Relief Society, and the Sunday School. She also served as Young Womens' President and as a Counselor in the Relief Society. Her favorite calling was that of a visiting teacher. She is survived by her three daughters; Anna (Robert) Kirby, Garland, UT; Mary Jane (Dyke) LeFevre, Hooper, UT; and Carla (Robert) Johansen, Roy, UT; 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
