Donald Gary Nye Obituary (1940 - 2024) - Marriott Slaterville, Utah

Donald Gary Nye Our beloved Gary passed away April 22, 2024 at his home. He was born July 29, 1940 in Ogden, Utah the son of Afton Marjory (Butler) and Donald O Nye. He attended Ogden City Schools. Gary married Susan Edna Hamblin on February 29, 1960, they celebrated 64 years together this year. Gary was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in the Elders Quorum as 2nd Counselor. Gary was the owner/operator of Nye's Import Auto. He loved working on cars and rebuilding engines and restoring old cars. He was also an outdoors man who enjoyed hunting, fishing and going camping. He enjoyed vacationing in Arizona, traveling to Yellowstone and anywhere with his wife and family, being close to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren gave him great joy. Gary is survived by his wife Susan, son Gary Dee Nye, daughter Jackie Mills, his siblings, Ronald Nye, Curt Nye, Ty and Marlee Nye, Connie Harding, Dawn and Tim Chatelain, Annette & Wayne Wilson, Debbie and Elmer Yates, and Teresa Stephens, 15 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents Donald and Afton Nye, a brother Leonard Nye and his daughter Tami Nye Field. Funeral service will be held at the Heritage Park Ward, 250 North 1500 West, Marriott-Slaterville, on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 11a.m. with a viewing prior from 9:40 a.m. to 10:40 a.m. There will also be a viewing on Friday, April 26th at the church from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
