Donald Arthur Jensen
Roy - Donald A. Jensen, 80, passed away Wednesday January 18, 2012 at McKay Dee Hospital surrounded by family and friends.

Don was born on May 5, 1931 to Byron D. and Eliza Pledger Jensen in Ogden, UT. He was the oldest of eight children.

On April 20, 1961 Don married Gayla Speth; together they had a beautiful daughter Elizabeth. They later divorced.

On August 15, 1970 he married Mary Kay Tincher in Elko, Nevada. Together they have two sons. Their marriage was later solemnized on October 15, 2009 in the Ogden LDS Temple.

At the young age of two Don was diagnosed with polio and was treated at the Shriners Hospital in Salt Lake City. He credits his life to the Shriners and the Masons for treating him during this debilitating illness. Later at the age of five he suffered from Encephalitis which left him with Epilepsy. With these conditions Don was forced out of school before he was able to finish the sixth grade. Don always had a love of learning and continued his education on his own through reading and studying books. He later went back and received his GED and retired from Hill Air Force Base and Thiokol working in drafting and plastics.

Don is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he held many callings. His favorite calling was being a Scout Leader; he loved spending time with the youth of the church. He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons, Amity 23 Lodge of Brigham City, Utah. Don's greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. He also enjoyed reading, writing poetry some of which was published, learning and talking about history, hiking, fishing, hunting, whittling and building model airplanes with the boys.

Don had an unconditional love for everyone. He never met a stranger that didn't instantly become a lifelong friend.

Don is survived by his sweetheart Mary, son-in-law Dave Nuttall, W. Jordon, UT; son Byron (Becky) Jensen, Twenty-nine Palms, CA; son Bryce (Kami) Jensen, Roy, UT; 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Elizabeth, Brother Roy Jensen, Sister Beverly Pledger and granddaughters Maliya and Makayla Jensen.
