Donna Cleveland Obituary (1926 - 2022)

Donna Lutz Parker Cleveland Cody, 95, passed away December 4, 2022, in Farr West, Utah. She was born December 27, 1926, to parents A. Laurence Lutz and Lila Johnson Lutz in Salem, Idaho, Fremont County. Married 1948 to John P. Parker in Ogden, Utah. Living children: Dennis (CA) and Jacquelyn (AZ). Deceased children: Brent (previously married to Alma Briggs), Steven, and Michele Parker. She was proud to have three grandchildren Jessica, Mason, and Lewy, and one great grandchild Maxine. In 1973 she married George Cleveland who had six beautiful children: Stephen, Grant, David, John (deceased), Darcy Abbott and Georgia Graves. Several years after George's death, thru her love for the antique cars she met Joseph Cody (Tacoma, WA), they were married in 1996. His death was sudden and unexpected in 1998. Joe had one son Joe R. Cody (Chandler, AZ). For many years as a single mom, Donna raised her 5 beautiful children in Scottsdale, AZ. She spent 62 years in AZ before moving to Ogden, Utah in 2016 to be near her siblings Blair, Nolan Lutz (deceased), Joyce Garlick and Marva Thomas (deceased). Donna graduated from Weber High School in 1945. For 25 years she worked as an analyst for Motorola in the Western Area Computer Center in Scottsdale, AZ. In her younger years she was active with the Extension Service to the University of Arizona. She held all the office of the following organizations: VOM Toastmaster Club, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Motorola Retiree Club, Sun Country Model T Club, Valley of the Sun Horseless Carriage Club, and the Back Seat Driver Auxiliary. She also belonged to two national antique car societies and some local Kansas car clubs. She was active in the LDS church and held the office of teacher in their various organizations. Since she had three young boys she was a Cub Scout Leader for 8 years. Donna's pride and joy was owning and driving a 1914 Model T Runabout for 20 odd years. Then when it became a hardship to maintain she shipped it to Australia. Then she settled for a 1965 Baby Blue Cadillac Convertible. Her activities in the antique car clubs gave her an outlet and sense of adventure that took her all over the world. One extra ordinary occasion was when 30 antique Mode Ts were shipped to Italy, and about 60 members flew over to retrieve them. A whole month was spent touring the entire country. They drew the attention of Mayors at almost every town and were treated to champagne breakfasts and other activities. Buses and trains were their transportation in larger cities. These organized tours took her all over the USA, Nova Scotia, and the entire Canadian country. Donna and her younger sister Marva traveled to several Scandinavian countries and at the age of 90 she visited China. A viewing for Donna will be Friday, December 9, 2022, 5-7 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah. Donna's final resting place will be at the Scottsdale Green Acres Cemetery in the Carden of Prayer next to her late husband George Cleveland and her three deceased children.
