Donnett Mckay Malan Obituary (1932 - 2012)

Donnett McKay Malan Eden - After an eleven year battle with breast cancer, Donnett McKay Malan, our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born October 29, 1932 to Roy C and Josephine Rose McKay. She attended Ogden City schools and graduated from Ogden High School. She married Dean Alton Malan on October 29, 1950 and they made their home in Eden, Utah where they raised three children: Debra (Eric) Bernkopf, Jeff D. (Sherry) Malan and Steven L. (Amy) Malan. Donnett worked at the Defense Depot Ogden for many years and enjoyed many hobbies. She especially loved metal detecting and attending mountain man rendezvous'. She is survived by her husband; children; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Bonnie Stegen and Norma Hains. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Michael. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to her two physicians, Dr's Vincent Hansen and Alan Abdulla and their staffs for all the love and care they have given mother over the years. We would also like to thank IHC Hospice for their loving care to mom during her final days. Also, special thanks goes to Donnett's many friends in the Eden 2nd Ward who were always there to support her with food and love! A viewing will be held in mom's honor on Monday, March 19, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. Graveside services will be held at the Mountain View Cemetery, 5555 E. 2700 N., Eden, Utah on Tuesday, March 20th at 11:30 a.m. Friends and family are invited to meet afterwards for a luncheon to be held at the Eden Bowery.
