Dorothy B. Jones Obituary (1916 - 2003)

Dorothy B. Jones OGDEN- Dorothy B. Jones, our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother; 86, passed away in the arms of her loving daughter, and beloved sister and was reunited with her loving husband of 65 years on Saturday June 21, 2003. She was born December 29, 1916 in Point Springs, Idaho, a daughter of Richard Bishop and Maria Tams Bishop. She spent her early years in Paradise, UT, and moved to Ogden as a young girl. She married Marcus L. Jones on August 11, 1934 in Ogden. The marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on December 16, 1964. She faithfully supported her husband during his 20 years of military service. During that period they were frequently on the move, living in Washington, Kansas, Maryland, New Jersey, Japan, and Germany before settling in Ogden in 1960. She was an active member of the LDS church. She served for many years as the CTR teacher in the primary of the 47th Ward and passed out countless CTR rings. She and her husband served a mission in the Florida, Tampa mission. She also worked with her husband as ordinance workers in the Ogden Temple for many years. Surviving are five sons and two daughters, Richard E. Jones, Ogden; William (Jackie) Jones, South Ogden; Jerry B. (Sharol) Jones, Denver, CO; Carol Pearce, Ogden; Beverly Wilson, Huntsville, AL; Steven M. Jones, Cobb Mountain, CA; and Jeff (Emi) Jones, Layton, UT. Also surviving are 23 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren, all of whom will always be influenced by her unconditional love and affection. She is also survived by her sister Jessie Lewis, Ogden; Brother Tom Bishop, Washington Terrace; Sisters in law Lois Bishop, Novato, CA, and Rita Bishop, Daly City CA. She was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters.
