Dorothy Kathleen Paulsen
March 18, 1935 – December 6, 2024

On Friday, December 6, 2024, our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Mom was 89 years old. She was born March 18, 1935 to loving parents Robert and Illa Straley in Frontier, Wyoming. When mom was a few months old her father passed away as a result of a work injury. Her family then moved to Lewiston, Idaho.
Mom was the youngest of four siblings, brothers Robert Jr. (Vera), Eldon Straley and sister LaRue (John) Acock, all preceded her in death.
At the age of 16 she married Rey LeRoy Porter. Together they had 4 children, George Rey Porter, Kathy Jean Neilson, Randy Straley Porter and Brent W. Porter. They later divorced (he is now deceased), mom then married Fay Jr. Ward and they had 2 children, Danny LaMar Ward and Lisa Faye Ward, they later divorced (he is now deceased). On March 18, 1993 she married John Crawford Paulsen who had 2 daughters, Susan (Bruce) Richins and Jeanne (Daniel) Morris to add to our family.
Mom loved to travel and visited many beautiful places. She loved the outdoors and camping, especially spending most of the summer weekends at the Eagles Campground where she made many loving, lasting friends and of course all the laughs and fun all the grandkids remember when it was their time camping. “What happens at GG’s stays at GG’s”
Mom loved everyone and she was loved by all. Mom loved her family most of all and what a legacy in her 89 years of life. She is survived by her 6 children and their families; Son, George Rey Porter and his son Chad Porter (Chad’s daughters Reylyn and Payton (Alex) Carter), his son Bron (sons Daysen and Aiden and daughter Eastyn), George’s daughters Brittany (Bobby) Henney (their daughters KayDee, Kaylee and Ashlynn Henney), Tiffany (Scott) England (their children son Tanner and daughter Taylor). Daughter, Kathy Neilson (daughter Angela Jaskowski (Shay) Lambert (their children Dakota (Nick) Hillis (children Asher, Maylie and Theo Hillis), Casche (Raynee) Jaskowski (their children daughter Tayden, son Cameron Jaskowski, daughter Avery Jaskowski, son Wyatt Lambert and daughter Morgan Lambert. My granddaughter Kartyr (Ethan) Scott (their daughters Crystal and Ella Scott), my grandsons Brayden Stauffer, Jakob Burt and granddaughter Emma Burt, grandsons Gabriel Hileman, Kaden (Trinity) Hileman, Daughter-in-law Amanda (Ron) Harvey, grandson Ryder Harvey and granddaughter Ashlyn Harvey. Son Randy (Jill) Porter their sons Dustin Porter (his daughters Citori and Journey Porter), Ryan Porter (his son Greyson Porter). Son Danny (Lisa) Ward (their son Danny Jr (Angelica) and their children Zuryn, Danni and Caynza Ward, grandson Ayson Ward, granddaughter Maddie Ward) (daughter Alicia (Kemmer) Sugar. Son, Brent Porter and his children daughter Amber (Tim) Een (their children, Summer, Authum, Noah and Samuel Een), son Adam (Amy) Porter (their children Aubree, Zaylee and Kenzlee Porter) and Natalie Porter. Daughter Lisa (Ramiro) Angulo and their 11 children and families, Kelly Adalid (daughter Heavenly Angelo (Maria) Adalid (their children Amora, Damon, Angelo Jr, Nacio and Petra), Apri (Ben) Castillo (their children Joshua, Jino, JT, Blessing, Believe, Praise, Jeremiah, and Victory; Jesse Adalid, Johnathan Lemus (his children sons Loyal, Levi, Lucus, Ezekiel and daughter Amariah), Salena (Michael) Henderson (their children Michael Jr, Giselle, Alasia, Genesis, Apri and Anthony, Dreamer (Lexi) Lemus, Jonah, Jeovanni, Isaiah and Alisia Angulo.
Mom was preceded in death also by her husband John C. Paulsen, granddaughters Crystal Burt, baby Alasia, grandsons Michael Ward and Robert “Bob” Hileman III

Services will be Friday, December 13, 2024 at Myers Mortuary in Brigham City, 205 So. 100 E. at 11 a.m. with a viewing prior from 9 to 10:45 a.m. She will be laid to rest at Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 No. Monroe Blvd., Ogden.
