D. Frank Egginton Jr Obituary (1921 - 2011)

D. Frank Egginton ROY - D. Frank Egginton passed away Thursday, June 9, 2011 at the George E. Wahlen Ogden Veterans Home. He was born November 16, 1921 in Ogden, Utah, the son of Dorsor Frank Egginton Sr. and Ada Hardy Egginton. He was a Veteran of World War II. He married his "sweetheart from heaven" Norma Fletcher July 28, 1948 in the Logan Temple. Frank sold real estate for many years. He enjoyed serving as a missionary and temple worker for the LDS Church. He was known for his unique vocabulary, especially while playing Rook with his wife and grandchildren. He loved fishing and hunting with his brothers and sons and sharing his joy of music through singing. He is survived by his wife, Norma Egginton, children: Susan (Mike) Sonognini of West Haven; Shaunna (Rocky) Olson of Roy; Heather (Paul) Cannon of Saratoga Springs, UT; Frank (Julie) Egginton of Layton; Mark Egginton of Salt Lake City, 21 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff of the Veterans home for their loving care and friendship. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the North Park Ward Chapel, 4250 South 2150 West, Roy. A viewing will be held Monday at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch where Military Honors will be accorded.
