Dortha "Jean" Douglass LAYTON - Dortha "Jean" Douglass, 66, passed away January 31, 2004 due to complications from Emphysema and COPD, due to 40 years of smoking. Jean was born December 15, 1937 to Oscar and Norene Hicks Pace in Tyronza, Arkansas. She married Lawrence M. Dizon. They were later divorced. She married John C. Douglass Jr. June 13, 1970 in Modesto, CA. She is survived by three daughters, a stepson and stepdaughter; Tammie O. Duryee, Ogden, UT; Tanya J. Ramirez, Layton, UT; Donna N. Fuentes, Antioch, CA; James A. Douglass, Lompoc, CA; and Deborah S. Douglass, Glendale, CA. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren; two brothers and one sister; Sam Brown, Fairfield, CA; Oscar Pace, Chesterton, IN; and Sheila Fordyce, Dixon, IL.
