Douglas Fowers

Douglas (Doug) John Fowers, age 72, passed away on January 1, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones at Ogden Regional Medical Center in South Ogden, Utah. Born September 6, 1952, in Ogden, Utah, to Donald J. & Margaret E. Fowers, Doug lived a life full of love, family, & dedication.

Doug was a resident of Roy, Utah, where he & his wife, Susan Marie (Christensen) Fowers, built a beautiful life together. They married on February 2, 1973, in Ogden, Utah, their union of 52 years is a testament to their enduring love & partnership.

Doug earned an associate degree & used his education to enrich his life & the lives of those around him. He retired from the Ride Program as the Director of Services on December 31st, 2009. He enjoyed his animals, his garden & camping with his family. In his younger years Doug loved jogging & running marathons. He will be remembered for his wisdom, kindness & unwavering commitment to his family & friends.

Doug is survived by his beloved wife: Susan; his children, Troy (Lisa) Fowers, Koby Fowers (Vikki Douglas), Gina Fowers-Salinas (Manuel Salinas) & Tara Fowers-Solorio (Isaiah Hernandez). Doug & Susan raised their grandson Isiah Douglas Fowers (Tristen Saunders-Fowers); his additional grandchildren: Shad (Taylor), T.J., Jonathon, Jordyn, Kyle, Koby Jr., Aurianna (David), Ayva, Josiah, Gabriella, Ana Meree; & his great-grandchildren: Rylee, Landon, Karma, Addylinn, & Tyler. Doug is also survived by his 6 loving brothers & sisters. He is preceded in death by his parents: Donald J. & Margaret E. Fowers; his older sister: Jeannie Lefler; his younger brother: Jackie A. Fowers & great-grandchild: Damon A. Marsh.

Doug's family invites all who knew & loved him to join in celebrating his remarkable life. His memory will remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Doug’s final expenses in his memory to Myers Mortuary.
