A beacon of light in the lives of many, Duane's adventurous spirit and compassionate nature were the guiding forces throughout his life. He passed away peacefully on December 25, 2023, from a short battle with brain cancer, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Duane was a man of many talents and interests. He proudly graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1984. Duane married Michelle McGuire, they had two beautiful children, they later divorced but remained friends. Duane was a devoted bus driver at MV Transportation for the past 11 years and worked prior at Kimberly-Clark for over 20 years. He displayed an admirable work ethic and a commitment to serving his community. His adventurous side shone through in his love for camping and fishing. Some of Duane's favorite locations to be in "god's country" included Logan canyon, the Uinta mountains, and blacksmith fork canyon. His knack for finding hidden treasures was not just a hobby, but a passion he shared with his friends and family. Duane maintained unwavering loyalty to the Dallas Cowboys and was able to fulfill his lifelong dream of attending game in Dallas shortly before his passing. Duane's thoughtful and loving nature was evident in the way he cared for his friends and family, and his dedication to joy and kindness was noticed by all.
Duane was a loving father to his daughter Daisha (Allon) Echols, a son Dallas (Heather) Johnson, and was a loving companion to his best friend Tracey Barth. Duane was also an exceptional grandpa to four grandchildren, Hadley, Ayden, Brecken and Oakley. He is survived by two brothers, Greg (Celeste) Johnson and Rick Dolan, and two sisters, Pam (Phil) Snow and Melody (Tim) Farley, who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Terkelson and three brothers.
He resided in North Ogden, Utah where he was known for his warm, welcoming personality and his unwavering generosity. A special thanks goes out to the compassionate caregivers at Canyon Home Health and Hospice, who provided comfort and support in his time of need.
