Edith Luanna Hart Checkman Obituary (1926 - 2007)

Edith LuAnna Hart-Checkman has made her way home, on January 6 2007 at the age of 80. She was born on April 9, 1926 in Freemont, Nebraska, to Ora and Anna Hart. She was married to Joseph DeSalvo, whom later were divorced. She married Marvin "Max" Checkman on March 22, 1959. Between them, they had four children, Joseph (Carla) DeSalvo (Rock Springs WY), Nancy Penland (Ogden UT), Raymond Johnson (Washington), and Marvin W. Checkman (Deceased). She was a proud member of the F.O.E. and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was the GREATEST grandmother of 15 grandchildren, 27 great- grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. Preceding her in death is both of her parents, her loving husband, and stepson. She was the last of ten siblings to grace the earth. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Crestwood Care Center, and Legacy Health Care for helping to take great care of her for the past 2 years. She will be missed by all of us!!
