Edith Thorsted

OGDEN - Edith Ann Richards Thorsted, 84, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at her home.

She was born November 27, 1920 in Ogden to Ianthus L. and Lily Mae Barker Richards. She married Paul D. Thorsted on April 21, 1948 in Ogden; their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple.

Edith always had a beautiful flower garden, and was especially gifted with growing beautiful roses.

She was an active member of the Lorin Farr 3rd Ward (previously the Ogden 21st Ward), where she served in many church callings. She loved to participate in special church productions, musicals, and roadshows. She will be fondly remembered for her wit, creativity, her talks and humorous readings.

Surviving are her husband, Paul D. Thorsted of Ogden; one son and one daughter, David (Karen) Thorsted, Ogden; Carole Ann (Bruce) Teeples, Las Vegas; seven grandchildren, Scott (Marci) Thorsted, Brad Thorsted, Michelle Thorsted, Matthew (Amber) Teeples, Taralee Teeples, Melinda (Peter) Andersen, Trisha (Derek) McCool; and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers and one sister, Ray L. Richards, Jack A. Richards, Afton A. Richards, and James C. Richards.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sons.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to IHC Hospice.
