Edward ''Teddy'' Surrage Obituary (1929 - 2003)

Edward (Teddy) C. Surrage WEST HAVENa"On February 22, 2003, our loving Father, Grandpa, Uncle, Brother and friend passed away peacefully. He was born December 9, 1929 in West Weber, Utah, a son of Edward Surrage and Velma May Marriott Surrage. He was in the Korean War as an artillery anti-aircraft gunner. He was discharged on October 22, 1959. He married Marian Batchelor on May 22, 1954 in Willard, Utah. Teddy put his whole life into his cowboy way of life. He started herding sheep at a young age with his dad. As he got older, he went to work for Perry Land and Livestock, which later changed to Basin Land and Livestock. They stayed at the ranch for several years then moved to the mountains and the desert with the cows, where they lived in sheep camps and trailers. After his retirement from Basin Land and Livestock, he went to work for John Larkin Feed Lot for a few years. Then he went and watched over the cows for the Bar O Cattle Company. Teddy is survived by his mother, Velma May Surrage, a sister-in-law, RaNae Willard, whom he loved and raised as a daughter, sister, Donna (Dave) Altop of Roy, Utah, sister, Alice (Eddie) LaRue of Warren, Utah, brother, Jim (Joyce) Surrage of West Warren, Utah, brother, Val (Glenna) Surrage of Taylor, Utah, three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, ten nephews, seven nieces, one stepson, Donny Droesbek and several step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian and his father, Edward Surrage and brother-in-law, Scott Willard. The family would like to thank Lew and Carol Wright for the kind and helpful neighbors that they are.
