Edwin "Ed" D. Ulrich
ROY - Edwin "Ed" Duane Ulrich, 67, passed away Monday, September 20, 2010 at Ogden Regional Medical Center.
He was born April 28, 1943 in Dickinson, North Dakota, a son of Edwin R. and Loretta Garecht Ulrich. He was raised in Tacoma, Washington, graduating from MT Tahoma High School in 1961, relocating to Utah in 1963.
On September 16, 1966 Ed married Helen Kay Pribble in Ogden, Utah. Ed was employed by Defense Depot Ogden for 29 years retiring in 1995.
Ed enjoyed car shows, classic cars, motorcycles, twisting bolts in his garage and loved listening to his police scanner and music. His laugh and sense of humor will be sorely missed.
Surviving are his wife Kay, two children; Kathryn (Vince) Coltran, Lakewood Colorado; Lisa Marie Ulrich, Columbus, Ohio and four grandchildren, Marty, Kortnee, Tyler and Hailee Anne. Also surviving are three sisters, Jeanette (Don) Pfohl, Salem, Orgeon; Ginger (Steven) Frongner, North Ogden, Utah; Yvonne Kassabian, North Branch, Michigan; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by both parents.
The above tells you who Ed was. It does not tell you what Ed, or Sonny to his extended family was, however, Sonny was a good friend, family man, and neighbor. He was a kind and gentle man. He was the first in line to help whoever would ask. He had an extremely active sense of humor. He never forgot a joke, and he never forgot to tell one. He deeply loved his wife Kay and his family, and he enjoyed life in Utah. Sonny will be missed, and his sense of humor and his laugh will leave a void for all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 24, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services.
Interment, Myers Evergreen Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Animal Shelter of your choice.
