Eileen May Houchins

Kaysville, UT - Our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Eileen May Taylor Houchins passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, October 14, 2010. Eileen was born in Los Angeles, CA on March 21, 1944 to Ralph and Marian Taylor.
She then met the love of her life, Steven Jesse Houchins. They married December 1, 1965. They had two children and five grandchildren who they loved very much.
Eileen became a foster mother in 1991 and shared her home with many young women whose lives she touched deeply. She was an avid Avon representative; she loved cooking, crocheting, and teaching the young women with whom she shared her home.
Eileen was a member of the Kaysville LDS 5th Ward.
Surviving are her son, Jesse Houchins, of SLC, UT; and her brother, Alan (Linda) Taylor or St. George, UT; five grandchildren and several foster daughters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Steven; her son, Michael; and her parents.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at the Kaysville Utah East Stake Center, 201 South 600 East at 12 noon. Family and friends may gather Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 250 North Fairfield Road, Layton, UT and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be in Kaysville City Cemetery.
