Elda Schneider Terry Obituary (1934 - 2015)

Elda Schneider Terry ROY - Elda Schneider Terry, 81, passed away Monday, October 12, 2015 at McKay Dee Hospital. She was born July 30, 1934 in Bancroft, ID to Joseph Burdett and Luella Barfuss Schneider. She married Robert Spencer Terry on November 26, 1952 in the Salt Lake Temple. Elda lived in Salmon, ID; Bancroft, ID; Ogden, Clinton and Roy Utah. Elda attended Broklyn School in Bancroft, ID; Dee School in Ogden, UT; North Davis Jr. High School in Clearfield, UT; Davis High School in Kaysville, UT. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Elda was active in many callings, including Jr. Sunday School President, Primary teacher and Sunday School teacher. She greatly loved working in the Ogden and Washington DC Temples. Elda was a PTA President and loved working with the children as an aide at Valley View Elementary School. Elda loved to square dance and travel, but mostly she enjoyed spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren. She was an excellent seamstress, made many clothes for the Barbie dolls. She baked unsurpassed pie crust and cookies, and loved to quilt with her friends. Above all, she was a wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Robert, daughters, Peggy (Malin) Erickson, Robin (Mark) Ferrin, sons, Rodney (Janet) Terry, and Mike (Natalie) Terry, 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, brothers, Jay (Rosemarie) Schneider, Dee (Carlene) Schneider and sister, Norma Bell. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Leona Hoopes. Special thanks to McKay Dee Hospital staff for their excellent care. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 S. 1900 W. A viewing will be held Friday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 -10:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Roy City Cemetery.
