Elfriede Selma Butler Obituary (1939 - 2003)

ELFRIEDE SELMA BUTLER SUNSET - Elfriede Selma Butler, 64, beloved mother, wife, sister and friend passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2003 at Davis Hospital and Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on January 3, 1939 in Tilsit, Germany, the daughter of Alfred Arno and Berta Schultz Scherrmann. Elfriede married Ronald Butler on May 8, 1962 in Sembach, Germany. She was a member of the Lutheran Church. Elfriede came to the United States in 1962 and became a US citizen in 1971. Elfriede and Ronald have resided in Sunset for 29 years. Elfriede was a caring and compassionate person whose love for her family was boundless. She had a great love for animals and was an avid gardener. Elfriede had a smile and personality that could light up a room. Everyone who was lucky enough to meet her considered her a friend. She always had time to listen and just being in her presence made you feel better. Elfriede had the ability to make everyone whose life she touched feel special. Her compassion, love and friendship will be missed dearly. Her family, friends and loved ones will never let her memory be forgotten. She is survived by her husband, Ronald, Sunset; a daughter, Deborah Butler, Draper, UT; a son, Thomas Butler, Camarillo, CA. Also surviving are three sisters, Ingeborg Blank, Gisela Schmidt, Sigrid Hoffmann, all of Germany. Her parents preceded her in death.
