Eliza L. Jones Lamb Hill

OGDEN - Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, Godmother, sister, aunt, and friend departed this life January 22, 2006. She was the seventh of nine children born to Allie Tillman and Dave "Nook" Jones on September 10, 1927 in Heflin, Louisiana. She was reared and educated in the Webster Parish schools and relocated to Ogden, UT in 1945.

She married James Lamb on October 25, 1946 in Ogden. To this union two sons were born, they later divorced. She married James O. Hill on July 12, 1968 in Ogden, UT.

She was a member of the COGIC. She served in many capacities in the church. Eliza dearly loved the hospitality department. She enjoyed cooking and was well known for her pound cake. She was employed many years with Bon Marche, and later with Lamont Department Store.

Eliza enjoyed going fishing, hunting, camping and sports. The family will greatly miss Eliza's company at the family gatherings and her wonderful sense of humor.

Surviving are her husband James O. Hill; two sons, LaMar N. Lamb, Heflin, LA; Keith R. Lamb, Ogden; one stepson, James E. Lamb, Pennsylvania; one stepdaughter, Patricia Hill, Los Angeles, CA; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. Also surviving are five brothers, Prentiss (Ruby) Jones, Allen (Bobbie) Jones, Ralph (Jolene) Jones; Herman (Hazel) Jones, Melvin Jones; one sister, Ida Mae Cash; and a host of nieces, nephews, Godchildren, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel in Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd., with Elder Henry McAllister officiating. A viewing will be held on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary.
