Elizabeth Irene Hess

On January 3, 2010, the Angel that we call 'Mom', 'Grandma' and 'Great Grandma' left this earth on her knees, in prayer. She taught us many things, but mostly she taught us what it means to be a true disciple of Christ. Her infectious sense of humor will always keep us laughing, and her undaunted faithfulness will never cease to inspire.

Elizabeth Irene was born to Thelma Seal and Charles Clifton Bishop on April 11, 1925. She later met and married Grover Dean Hess on September 24, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Elizabeth, 'Beth' to those who knew her, dedicated her life to service, to her family, and as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Dean and Beth had six children, Irene (Terry) Baker, Janet (Lee) Roberts, Gerald (Barbara) Hess, Allan (Kathy) Hess, Susan (Kelly) Rigby, and Barbara (Mark) Collins. They also had 28 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Barbara and Ruth. She served in numerous callings in the Church and loved every one of them. She was well loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her. We would like to extend a thank you to all of her neighbors and friends from her ward for their kindness, and especially to her daughter, Barbara for the exceptional love and care she gave mom.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Seal and Lorimer, sisters; Karroll and Mary and her husband Grover Dean Hess

Thank you grandma, for the love you showed us. We love you, we miss you and we can't wait to see you again.

Family and friends may gather Wednesday evening January 6, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 250 North Fairfield Road, Layton, Utah and Thursday January 7, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Green Leaf Ward Chapel, 2160 West Gordon Ave. Layton, Utah. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Interment, Layton Memorial Park, 1867 North Fairfield Road.
