Elizabeth Ruth Arnoldus Meyer
December 16, 1934 - September 4, 2014
Resided in Roy, UT

ROY - Elizabeth "Betty" Ruth Arnoldus Meyer, loving wife, mother and grandmother, triumphantly left physical frailties and pain behind on September 4, 2014 as she returned home to her Heavenly Father and many loving family members.

Elizabeth was born on December 16, 1934 in Harlingen, Texas to Arvil Abraham Arnoldus and Floy Mozelle Goldsmith. Her family settled in Southern California and she earned her degree in Education from UCLA. Even though she spent her life surrounded by BYU fans, she always remained a true Bruins fan.

Elizabeth was a stalwart member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved the Lord and served him tirelessly. For many years, she served as an early morning seminary teacher, and she cherished the time she spent instructing the youth of the church. She looked for ways to serve others and often fed the missionaries and those less fortunate.

Elizabeth was an avid reader. She loved to spend time reading to her grandchildren when they were young and did her best to instill in them a similar love for the written word. She loved watching old movies. Her grandchildren treasure being able to have watched old classic comedies and musicals with her.

She was kind-hearted and soft-spoken, truly an elect lady. She lived with dignity and grace. She loved unconditionally and led by example. She was genuine and was a wonderful listener and confidante. Her sparkling wit was one part of her that never left, even when her health and mental state were declining. She often surprised us with more than one witty comment when we went to visit her.

Although those who love her miss her, we know that families are forever. She will wait to greet her family members who remain here on earth, just as those who passed on before her greeted her. We rejoice to know that she is whole once again.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband, John Jerome Meyer, and their children: David (Kelly) Meyer, James Meyer and Thomas (Michelle) Meyer and 17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arvil Abraham Arnoldus and Floy Mozelle Goldsmith Arnoldus. Also preceding her was her sister, Jeanette Louise Arnoldus Jones.

We wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff and caregivers at Heritage Park Care Center and Access Hospice.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Kaysville Flint Street Chapel, located at 200 N. 1275 W. (Flint Street) Kaysville, UT 84037.
