Elna Gaylene "Gaye" Larson Campbell Eastman
May 26, 1928 - March 23, 2017

Our beautiful Mom, Grandma, and Great-Grandma said good-bye to this world and hello to the next on her journey to eternal life on March 23, 2017.

She was born May 26, 1928 to Andres F. Larson and Violet E. Jensen in Rockport, Utah. She grew up in Wanship and attended North Summit primary schools and North Summit High School until she moved to Provo her senior year, where she met her loving husband Larvin V. Campbell. Mom graduated high school May 24, got married to Dad on May 25, and turned 18 years-old on May 26, 1946.

Mom lived during the depression and was a hard worker. When she was young, she worked at the Spring Chicken Inn in Wanship, where she did all the preparations for the chickens to be cooked. Later she was a clerical worker on Sandia Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was also a waitress for years at the Alcapo Supper Club and The Jolly Knight. One summer she even picked cherries with her daughters and their friends to help earn money. She babysat and was a home health aide.

She traveled to many states and to Portugal since Dad was in the military. They finally came back to Utah and settled in Ogden. Dad passed away June 14, 1982.

When Mom was in her forties she became an active and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She faithfully served in the Relief Society, Primary and Young Women's. She was a faithful visiting teacher and served with her best friend and companion Lois Brown for 35 years. She became a temple worker at the Ogden Temple, where she met her sweetheart and our "Papa", Don L. Eastman, whom she married on March 31, 1989. He passed away October 29, 2010.

Mom was very talented. She loved to bowl, and bowled in Idaho and in Ogden with the Ben Lomond Belles. She could tap dance, play the piano by ear, and loved to dance; she and Papa danced with the Varianes. Mom loved fishing in the mountains of Idaho with Dad. She also loved to watch basketball; her favorite teams were the New Mexico Lobo's and the Utah Jazz. But above all, she loved being with her family.

She is survived by her children: V. Craig (Margaret) Campbell, Hooper; Steven A. Campbell, West Haven; Valita (David) Bishop, North Ogden; Tammie (Myron) Brandley, Harrisville. Step-children: Ann (Terry) Martin, Clinton; Mike (D.K.) Eastman, West Point. Special friends: Ed and Marsha Poulter, Kingston, OK; and Robina Delion, Ogden, UT; and her 34 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, four siblings, a step-daughter and three grandsons.

We want to especially thank Kristy Rowell, Lisa Vest, Kayla Knox, Jodi Jensen, Darla Brandley, and all the staff at Lotus Park Assisted Living, Step Forward and Inspiration Hospice.
