Eloise Bond Child Obituary (1918 - 2011)

Eloise B. Child SUNSET - Eloise B. Child, 92, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 2, 2011. She was born in Nephi, Utah, a daughter of Lawrence C. and Martha Parkes Bond. She lived in California, Arizona, Wyoming, and Utah, attending Roy Elementary and graduating from Weber High School. Eloise married Howard R. Child on April 12, 1940. He passed away on April 30, 2003. They spent sixty three wonderful years together. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She faithfully served as a visiting teacher, magazine representative, and Primary worker. Eloise enjoyed making wall clocks, planting flowers, going shopping and on walks. She loved pastel colors, canning, especially salsa, playing the organ, and dancing at the Berthana Ballroom, where she met her sweetheart. She is survived by her sons; Ronald Lynn Child, Charles Alan (Ann) Child, Leonard Ray (Vera) Child, and Howard Laurence Child, daughter; Sue Ann Nielson, 20 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters; Ellen (Melvin) Rogers, Donna (Merril) Shupe, and Margret (Don) Child. Eloise was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Max Bond (brother) and Wayne Child (grandson). Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 7, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., at Myers Roy Mortuary 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah. Friends and family may call on Sunday, February 6, 2011, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., and on Monday from 9:45 - 10:45 a.m., prior to services. Interment in the Roy City Cemetery. The family would like to give special thanks to Inspiration Hospice and Heritage Park Care Center, and to her son Lynn for the wonderful care given to our mother.
