Elsie W. Taylor Obituary (1923 - 2001)

ELSIE W. TAYLOR Elsie W. Taylor, 78, formerly of Syracuse, Utah, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2001 at the Rocky Mountain Care Center in Clearfield. She died of natural causes after an extended illness. She was born in Ogden, Utah on March 29, 1923, the oldest daughter of James Lawrence and Zelda Butler Dalton. She married John G. Taylor in Elko, Nevada on March 26, 1955 and they were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Ogden Temple on December 10, 1976. She was raised in the Ogden area and attended Ogden High School when it was first built; she was in the second graduating class. Elsie worked as an auditor for the Internal Revenue Service for 19 years before she retired to spend time doing the things she really wanted to doa"go fishing and camping with her husband. She was a member of the Founders Park Ward and loved being a visiting teacher before she moved to the Rocky Mountain. She loved to crochet and sew while she watched TV, and she enjoyed reading and listening to music. Elsie was preceded in death by her husband John and her sister Jean Bennett. She is survived by five sons and five daughters, Lawrence D. Watkins, Montana, Lynne G. Randall, Nevada, Norris T. (Maylinn) Watkins, Ogden, Sharon (Jesse) Mason, Ogden, Doug (Joyce) Taylor, Huntsville, Marlene (John) Groenthal, Big Lake, Alaska, Sandy Worrall, Anchorage, Alaska, Dennis G. (Sheri) Taylor, Tooele, Marvin L. Taylor, Ogden, and Jackie L. (Michael) Allred, Syracuse, New York. Also surviving are three sisters, Vivian Strong, Clearfield, Zelda (Arlin) Neilson, Huntsville, and Marilyn Wright, Idaho, 41 grandchildren, 78 great grandchildren, and several great, great grandchildren.
