Althora M. Fairbanks
WILLARD- Surrounded by her loving family, Elva Althora Mayhew Fairbanks passed away March 21, 2013 at her home.
Althora was born in Duchesne, Utah on January 18, 1925, a daughter of Burdett and Susan Elva Moulton Mayhew.
She grew up in the Uintah Basin and graduated as valedictorian from Duchesne High School.
Althora married her sweetheart Wilder "Ned" Fairbanks on June 30, 1943 in Provo, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized on June 20, 1944 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
She was a devoted wife and mother. Her family was the most important part of her life.
Althora enjoyed birds, flowers and all of Gods creations. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings.
Surviving are her children: Suzanne A. (Larry) Williamson, Columbus, GA; Sharla Rae (Doug) Lemon, Farr West, UT; Michael N. (Holly) Fairbanks, Willard, UT; Sherri Lee (Gary) Swinden, Chandler, AZ; Mark S. (Darcy) Fairbanks, Willard, UT; 17 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Also siblings: Lareta Brady, Duchesne; Burthel "Burt" (Sylvia) Mayhew, West Jordan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ned, and one great-grandchild, and brother-in-law, Leo Brady.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Willard Peak Chapel, 665 W. 7615 S., Willard, UT.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City and on Wednesday from 10:00 to 10:40 a.m. at the Church.
Interment will be in the Willard Cemetery.
