Emily Phyllis Lucero

–

Marriot/Slaterville, UT

MARRIOTT/SLATERVILLE - Emily Phyllis Lucero, born April 20th, 1937, breast cancer took her life on Wednesday May 23, 2001. She died in her home comfortable and not in pain.

Phyllis was a wonderful person, very devoted to her God, Jevovah. She took the scripture in the bible at Matthew 24:14 very personal, "This Good News of the Kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a Witness to all the nations and then the end will come". She used her whole life to preach "the Good News of the Kingdom", part of which mentioned at Psalms 37:29, and Revelation 21:3, 4; that there is a wonderful hope for all mankind, namely a paradise earth, with no sickness, death, or pain.

Phyllis loved people, and was devoted to trying to help even complete strangers to have quality to their life by learning the bible, and have a relationship with Jehovah God. Devotion is a word that really describes her in every aspect of her life.

She was a devoted wife, married to Joe Roy Lucero on April 13, 1955 and he remained her devoted companion for over 46 years. He dearly loved her. Together they were an example of how a marriage should be, and what it means to be a family.

Having children made her a mother, but it was her heart that made her an example even in this; she leaves behind three children and their families, Michael Roy ( Dixie) Lucero of Bozeman, Montana; Laurie Jo (Rick) Fronk of Farr West; and Mitchell John (Halynn) Lucero of South Weber. These children made her a grandmother to two grandsons and three granddaughters, and was "Grandma" to her two grandnieces and one nephew for her dear sister, "Erma Mae" who preceded her in death in 1994. Surviving her are her sisters, Edna Anderson of Ogden; and Evelyn Gonderman of Ada, Oklahoma; and her brother Lee Pons of Ogden. Her many nieces and nephews; many friends everywhere, but especially within the Worldwide Brotherhood of Jehovah's Witnesses.

She will live in our hearts and our stories until the wonderful day we see her again in perfect health when Jehovah God makes this earth a paradise. Phyllis will be so happy to work on this earth. She loved to garden.
